Horsewoman…

“Miles up in the Salt River Range we came across this girl driving a herd of cattle through the mountains. She was by herself. Armed to the teeth. And I couldn’t have paid someone to “look” more authentic and awesome. She was on her own rounding up cattle throughout the high country and driving them clean across this range of mountains.

There is a certain kind of stereotype in the East about the macho world of the northern Rockies. I could not disagree more. Thus far, it is the most egalitarian place I have ever lived!

People like this are my heroes.”
